These come with a thin foam mat with hard back. Comfortable enough to play on and maybe sleep on temporarily. You can always get a $30ish mattress that fits in these if you are looking for longish term sleep solution.

Thank you for the response. Can the mattress height be adjusted inside this? Little worries I may have back pain if mattress is so deep inside

No. It is how you see it in picture. Its just a simple pop up play area/nap area. (Pack n' play)

Is sleeping in one really a problem? My 16 month old sleeps in one with a couple of mats and a sheet below him.

These are not REAL CRIB replacements, If you need a crib just get a real crib.

It wouldn't work well for the first 6 months as the mattress would be too low. Some pack and plays come with a bassinet which can be attached. Or you may want to look at the Arm's Length co-sleeper

Target DPCI 030-09-3634, might fit your usecase.but you are paying $85, add another 30-40 you might get a proper crib from burlington/IKEA.

Pack N Plays are completely fine (and safe!) for babies to sleep in. I've never used an extra mattress but you will want to buy some sheets for it.
