Okay so they redid their naming schemes on their products a few months ago, and I was curious as to which 'new' edition coorelated to which 'old' edition as well. I contacted the support and chatted with them for about an hour to get to the bottom of it, because he wouldn't directly tell me an answer. So here's the "Heirarchy" and what they used to be called

Eset NOD 32 -->-- Eset Nod32 Antivirus (Basic)

Standard level antivirus and malware protection
Antivirus and Antispyware
Anti-Phishing
Gamer Mode
Exploit Blocker
UEFI Scanner
Cloud-Powered Scanning
Small System Footprint
Script-Based Attack Protection
Ransomware Shield
Free Support in Local Language
License Manager

Eset Smart Security -->-- Eset Internet Security (Advanced)

Adds:

Banking and Payment Protection
Personal Firewall
Antispam
Network Attack Protection
Botnet Protection
Parental Control
Webcam Protection
Connected Home Monitor
Anti-Theft (Windows only feature)

Eset Smart Security Premium -->-- Eset Smart Security Premium (Top Tier)

This really only adds device encryption and password manager to last tier

Hopefully this helps some of you. I personally have always used Eset Smart security (Internet Security, now) and use the interactive mode so that I can see what's trying to communicate over my network. Kind of an annoyance, but at the same time I've stopped some nasty things from coming through my network that would have been missed if it was on automatic.

This is a great price for a 3 license year. Keep in mind that this will most likely be a physical DVD sent to you with the keys in it, it won't be a digital emailed key.

$5 per PC is good. I think I paid $20 for this same thing. All the old version will upgrade to whatever the current one is.

I gave up on Norton about 5 years ago and have been doing NOD since then. Zero regrets. Super lightweight and doesn't constantly bombard you with notifications or advertisements.

I would buy this but I just activated my last one. Warning - activations do not stack, it will reset your date to start whenever you activate the code. So if you're buying for the future, stick the license code somewhere safe until you need it.

Anyone know the version heirarchy?

I currently run Antivirus 10. There's an Antivirus 11, so where does this Antivirus 2016 fit in?

As long as you have a valid license you can download the current version on the eset website so no worries there. Amazing price on this. They just released a new version a week ago (2018 edition)

This won't extend Smart Security activations, right?

Just bought one. Been using ESET NOD32 for years - great product, small memory footprint, low cpu utilization, you hardly know it's there! Current sub on 3 PC's expires in 4 days, so perfect timing! Thanks!
