What makes them different? I have an older IPS Asus monitor and was thinking if replacing it with 2 if these. Would that be a bad decision? I don't do any gaming mostly work and some light photo editing here and there.

viewing angle of e-ips is over stated.
different level of tech, so, buyer beware, you do still get what you pay for, some what, the nicer ones do go on sale from time to time as well. Its how I got my dell ah-ips's, I forgot there was a difference, but side by side its a bit obvious, I can see the far side of the monitor when on the side of 3 monitor setup has lower color uniformity than the rest, its dim on the side furthest away, and when I stand up, it dims significantly more than the rest. Also not as clear because of the matte glass over the display. I haven't fiddled too much with calibration yet, but the colors are better on ah-ips from what I can see already. Of course its better than TN, but its still annoying they all tout themselves as ips when its not that simple, not all ips are made the same.
