Nice find, potentially the lowest ever 1060 GTX for this laptop if you can get that military discount and have a chance to grab it. PST time 2.5 hours remaining before we hit 11/12.

Military coupon doesn't expire until 02/04/2018, but Dell could always make it more difficulty to use. No idea when the CB will lower either. Anyways, if you have amex sync, it also stacks.
Whats the performance difference with this I5 versus an I7?
Is this at 3.5 turbo already or it has to be OC?
thanks
If you're looking to do heavy multitasking, photo editing, and video rendering, the i7 would be important with its hyper-threading and possible boost to clock frequencies (300Mhz more with the i7-7700HQ). For gaming, this i5 should be enough, especially with that GTX 1060 6GB in it.
Unfortunate for me, I was too engrossed in the HP Omen I missed out on that had a i7-7700HQ, thinking that it was important, but your question got me looking online for the differences, and well, for my own needs and possibly yours, it wasn't as much as I thought.

Just some food for thought, I've been religiously watching Dell's pricing recently as I have been in the market for a 1060 - 1080 gtx laptop. On 11/16, they actually raised the prices in preparation for Veterans day (which I intended to participate in using my coupon for) and the promotions that are currently occurring. I actually called to order an Alienware 17 with a 7700hq and 1080 via phone, and just before I was connected to an agent, I saw them raise the price of the item in my cart by approximately 11 - 12%. When the agent was connected on the phone, I asked him about it and he essentially said well our prices change all the time, we cannot honor the price you have on the site. I tried negotiating with him, but ultimately the price was fixed at the higher rate. How considerate of Dell to be pushing Veterans day coupons, thank you for your service, etc, just to raise the price to account for the coupon. After that the agent was dismissive until the call ended....
Bet if you wait a bit it'll go even lower, especially with the Intel 8th series out in desktop variants with laptops following suite.

Way to go Dell...
That's just retail works in general. Not really a Dell thing.
