Thanks, grabbed two to go on the 3-way switches with the dimmers I grabbed from Walmart last week.

Not the primary switches. Only for 3 or 4 way installations.

I've read up on the product description, but I'm still not entirely clear when add-ons should be used. Are they only for 3 or 4-way switch scenarios where a non-add-on switch is also installed on that same circuit?

So you *need* this if you want a remote switch for your new GE connected switch. It works by setting up a low voltage link back to the main switch (using the existing remote wire). You'll actually end up tying off a wire or two. No high voltage to this switch!

Yes if you already have 3 or 4 way you put the main z-wave in the gang where there is 120v, the others you put this add on switch.

You don't have to use this if you don't want to use 3-way smart switching, just cover the other switch with a faceplate.

Does this work along with the Wemo dimmable switch?

You're going to be waiting a looonnnggggg time. These are hard wired switches and there's nothing really to update on them, so no one is going to clear them out for a new model any time soon.

Agree that price won't likely drop much further. I could see Jasco introducing Add-On switches with a Z-wave Plus radio to extend your mesh network. That would be an improvement over these... but would likely move the price to $30.

If I use smart bulbs and wire the lights to always be on, can I use add on switches to control them? The switch does not need to actually control the lamps.
