they have excess stock of these because people don't want them. each has their issues like fatter fingerboards, robot tuners, returns because of an issue, ect. avoid them. I've been watching that gibson page for the last four months seeing what's new, so I've seen what's being sold and returned(as openbox). Once you get over $1000 on a guitar there are plenty of other options available, unless you have a craving for something specific on this list I'd avoid it. I've also went to stratosphere and seen their list of guitar bodies(Which are Really high) and wonder why are they selling them? Gibson has made too many guitars and can't get rid of them. Even parting them out is expensive.

Double cut Les Paul is not a Les Paul. Also Gibson's quality is lacking in the last few years

Samsung tv panels can be subbed out to other manufacturers, but craftsmen skilled labor that made Gibson famous, cannot.

Then again, maybe Gibson's top brass don't have kids, so who cares what kind of world they inherit, as long as the top brass can retire like bankers?

I got a LS Tribute HP from sweetwater recently for an even grand and once I removed and replaced those awful robo-tuners it is AWESOME, I love it. Don't see that listed though.

I bought 3. Ranging from 600 to 1700. Returned them all for major issues that should never have left the factory. These should be marked b stock from the factory.

Gibson SG Standard 2015 for $899 - $20 coupon is a killer deal. Peoples ask for a lot more for used ones on ebay. I've been resisted myself for couple weeks but can't hold it anymore. Bought one for my fleet of about 20 guitars.
