Per Rtings.com the Sony 900e is a slightly better tv than the Samsung MU8000 overall

This appears to be the Costco version of the MU8000. Also comes with $125 Google Play credit

The Sony 900e will be $1,500 at BestBuy for Black Friday. I'm not sure if that will apply to online orders or be just in-store; either way, don't think you need to be waiting in line for that deal.

Also deciding between these two. Samsung 8000 series this year has received disappointing reviews due to edge-lit display and confusion with the quality stepdown from last year's KS series (versus this year's MU). Samsung has already confirmed FALD tech for next year's line-up, showing they've realized the mistake they made with edge-lit displays this year.

The 900e is certainly a better TV than this model, just not sure if it's worth the price difference since I already get the auto 2 year contract extension with Costco Citi card.

I've also done extensive research on the Vizio P-Series and believe that is a better TV than this Samsung. However, it doesn't look like they've posted any discounts on that model yet...

A lot has changed since my last post that you replied to (regarding discounts and prices). There are now ways to get the 65 900e for $1,500 without tax. For instance, if you live near a Fry's you can now pick one of these up without tax. I bet if you got the manager involved you might be able to get an extra 2-year warranty out of them as well. That being said, at this price (versus Costco's Samsung at ~1.3K pre-tax) I think this a better deal.

Full disclosure, I ended up coughing up more cash for the LG OLED B7A from Beach Camera. I couldn't get my mind off it after seeing that TV in person compared to the Samsung at Costco...

Thanks for the update! I did saw I could order either TVs without tax so the ultimate question for me is do I want to spend the extra $200. Is it really worth it? I was hoping to spend around 1-1.2k but now I'm not so sure... decisions, decisions!!
