I've had nothing but great experiences with Panasonic products. Only needed warranty service once though and it was quick and easy, but that was like 7-8 years ago, so maybe things change. Still using my Viera plasma TV from 2008, and use my Pany shaver daily. I will only buy Panasonic shavers, unless they stop selling them.

I'm thinking about grabbing one of these just for the blades, which I think should fit my shaver. $30 is just about worth it for a backup.

Never buying anything panasonic branded again. terrible customer service and have to contact 3rd parties for warranty replacement parts which may not even be available.

I bought oral irrigator from pana site. Simple O ring seal cracked. Was a nightmare to get warranty part replacement info. Then told to contact 3rd party for parts. Part only comes with another part which i would have to buy. Which was half the irrigator. Never again. I still use my pana camera from 2010 but others weren't so lucky and got used refurbed replacements for their brand new defective cams.

So, what's the consensus on this one: is it on par with equivalent Braun's (series 3)?

Looks like Amazon regular price is $40. Mixed reviews.

It's all third party sellers who probably buy these NewEgg sales and sell for $10 profit. Amazon doesn't even sell this model directly.

Also, I would guess no warranty from these resellers on Amazon. So you're paying $10 more and have no warranty. Great deal. /s

perfect timing. My 80 years old dad just asked for a replacement for his 3 years old Panasonic shaver. This fits the budget and the old one works well for couple years until the blade get dull. Buying a new one is almost cheaper than buying replacement blades. Thx Op!

Amazon takes a big cut and not to mention shipping.

Replacement blades for this model were less than $15 recently. Not sure which model your dad has...

If you have any signficant beard growth, I recommend getting at least an Arc4 or Arc5. It takes me forever to get a good shave with the Arc3. The model I have is 13,000 RPM speed vs.10,000 on this one, so it is probably even worse. You get what you pay for.
