Hi all -

My "gaming" laptop (Lenovo Y410p) is now over 4 years old and unable to play current generation games even on low settings, so I'm looking to replace it -- hopefully with a solid black friday or cyber monday deal. I don't have any specific games that I'm after besides the Fallout 4 that I can't play on my existing computer. I play most of my games on my PS4, but want to have flexibility to play games now and for the next couple years.

I'm a big fan of Lenovo, but would consider MSI, Asus or others with a solid recommendation. My budget is around $1000.

Must haves: Current gen processor (i7 is preferred, but i5 could be ok). 16gb Ram, SSD, 14 or 15" FHD screen, dedicated video card (don't know enough about what's good these days), decent battery, lightweight
Nice to have: Secondary hard drive, 2k+ screen, great battery life, slim / very lightweight.

The only deal I've kept my eyes on is this Y520 at Costco: https://www.costco.com/Lenovo-LEG...47159.html

Thanks in advance!

Change lightweight to a nice to have and you're all set with a Dell inspiron 7000. Pretty decent sales this year for black Friday and the difference between the i5 and i7 unless you so anything utilizing multi thrashing. Gtx 1050ti on board and 12gb ram for the average deal. It's about 4.3lbs which makes it a pain of its a daily lugger, but if you're looking for effective mobile gaming that will mostly shit at your desk, then I highly recommend this machine. It's a much more solid build than most Lenovo's and they almost all come with touchscreen 4k screens now so you would be set for not needing a monitor unless you want the extra real estate. By far, this is the first laptop in years that I think actually holds up as a desktop replacement. I think the best black Friday feel it's $650

Thanks for your feedback. I got a similar suggestion somewhere else -- seems like these new 7000's are pretty nice. Ideally I'd like to find something with a 1060 video card, but we'll see what I can find.

@Stupidmop - What did you end up going with...and at what price point did you buy it? I have similar goals, so please feel free to share a link if possible. Thanks

Got in on a cyber Monday deal (https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/10947639) - Dell 15" 7000 gaming with an i7 16gb ram, GTx 1060 and 256gb Ssd. Not sure that price will come around again, but I'm sure you can find something close in specs for a similar price. I haven't received my laptop yet, so can't speak to how satisfied I am yet.
