I don't think it's a member only deal, either. This set is wireless and has the ability to check temperature in your house and using the outdoor probe, any outdoor temperature, from anywhere in the world through the app.

You can also set up temperature alerts (both indoor and outdoor temp) through the app.

You also get free NWS forecasts straight to the station, maybe this matters to you.

This is a great set that retails for $42 on Amazon and more expensive elsewhere:

They also have the one with the bluetooth speaker for $32 ish:

I'm willing to pay more if they put a decent LCD display on these. The displays on these suck balz.

Viewing angles aren't great but I don't expect them to be on this, I don't need to look at it very long. The usage is more to remotely monitor temperature in my house and get alerted if it goes above it below a threshold, for me that is more useful Smilie Simple temperature sensors go for about this price of the entire station..

I bought this in September in warehouse and while it's good for the price, the cloud features are kind of finicky. Their servers go down fairly often and your weather station will display a message about not being connected to the app. It's been fine the past couple of weeks but it wasn't working for me for almost 5 days scattered throughout September and I do notice it saying no app connection maybe one every two weeks. I'm fine with it since I mainly use it to compare indoor and outdoor temperatures and check the forecast but people who absolutely need instant temperature alerts should keep in mind the reliability of their cloud server. I'd still recommend it if you don't need 100% uptime.

I need a device to check the temperature inside the house during travel. Can I use App to check the temperature inside the house while I am travelling away? I am ready to take the risk you have mentioned as Costco gives good return policy and I need a device to check the temperature while away.

I think an ecobee would be better for this task.

Unfortunately, my temperature control set is not compatible with wireless. Need to call in a specialist to re-run the wires or get expert advice. For the moment, will this product serve the purpose of checking the temperature while remote?

This is not what we called "smart" device.

In case if someone wants precise readings of your location when compared to the general readings you find in your app. Personally, I would use the weather app.

every year i buy whatever $20 indoor:outdoor weather station as a gift.

i'm disappointed this is now $30 for the gimmick of adding a phone app.
if you already check the weather on your phone, what do you need this
gadget for anyway... what a pointless IOT'like device enhancement.
and wasting half the screen on sky animation only dumbs this down.

i'd rather just have the same old weather station again for $20.
