Muscle pharm is a well know brand in fitness community. I would say the best time to take protein is first thing to eat in the morning, after the workout for sure. Muscle gain depends on your lifting intensity, sleep, good diet and consistency. Protein powder alone won't increase but helps a lot.

Protein timing is not important unless your cutting. Don't worry about it. Just focus on hitting at least 1g/lb of bodyweight everyday and Google a program

It's promo run by amazon - future credit for purchasing sample items. In this case Olympia samples were $10. Which he used in this order ( only applies on health department)

The cookies and cream is favorite flavor of any powder. Great price, Costco sometimes drops the 5lb down to 32 on sale.

This is good info. I use this brand (chocolate milk, specifically) as both a meal replacement and post-run fuel because of its high calorie to protien ratio (130 cal/25g per scoop). I mix it with some unsweetened almond milk, and it keeps me full. My issue with brotein powder in the past is that it's either super chalky/clumpy or that I'm instantly hungry. Picking up another bottle - TY, OP.

And just to throw this out there with all of these "combination protein" powders that are becoming all the rage. Compare them to whey, because they are all 99% whey. The rest is just advertising mumbo jumbo. Brand does not matter. What it comes down to taste vs purity. The more pure it is, generally the worse is tastes and either you'll suffer through it or you won't drink it. I can vouch for the Pharm Cookies and cream. W/ vanilla unsweetened almond milk instead of water it tastes like a disgustingly bad for you milkshake but it's low-carb. I look forward to drinking it, so I actually do it.

Also, most people have an abundance of carbs (read: sugars and starches) and don't get enough protein in their diets. Protein powder isn't just good for working out. It is also a good meal replacement, and this particular one is usually among the cheapest you can get. Plus it tastes great. The added ingredients? Ehhh.... They don't seem too bad. I have been drinking this for years both as a meal replacement and with lifting/running, and I don't have any side effects of note. I will buy this because 28 bucks for this much protein is cheap. Plus the jugs make great pet food containers.

If you're on the fence, go ahead and get some. Generally when you can find anything for under 30 bucks per 5 lbs it's an okay deal.

Thanks, you mean compare them to whey isolate? Yeah I'm thinking of switching brands from MyProtein. although that brand is still cheaper, but people have been saying that their ingredients have changed for the worse.
