Plus = ARM processor

Pro = Intel processor (faster for certain things)

everything else is identical.

Same prices on Amazon

Solid computer for anyone looking for a ChromeBook with Android app ability. I got one of these for my father and ended up getting one for myself. Excellent, light computer for personal use: social media, watching movies, and even some writing. Can be used professionally to a certain extent, depending on what you do.

This is a great choice for someone who wants a tablet that can also be a solid laptop at a decent price.

Agreed. I've owned dozens of laptops and this is one of my all time favorites. Battery life could be a bit better and a backlit keyboard should have been included, but beyond that I love this device. Hardly ever use my Surface Pro 4 anymore.

From what I can see the only difference is the CPU. Is that right?

Plus: Dual ARM® Cortex®-A72, Quad Cortex-A53 big.LITTLE™ configuration
Pro: Intel® Core™ m3 Processor 6Y30

Anyone care to comment on performance difference between the two and battery life? The Pro lists 9hrs but there's nothing on the plus. Battery size is the same.

Has anyone had success using this with chrome remote desktop to do work remotely with your powerhouse desktop? I'm wondering if it's realistic for long work sessions or if it's annoying and laggy.

I use this exact chrome book to remote into my desktop quite a bit. I'm not sure what type of work you want to do, but for me it's still nicer to be on a full size keyboard and monitor than it is to remote in from the chromebook. But as far as responsiveness/lag goes, it's pretty darn smooth. Feels like you're right there. The only thing that 'flakes out' a little for me is the sound occasionally comes out weirdly distorted and/or skips a lot.

Does m3 CPU generate more power than SD835?

I own the Plus and it has great build quality and screen. In case you're wondering the ARM processor is more than powerful enough for my multi-tab browser uses, and also sips battery life.

Yep... Both of these are winners. I have the Plus, and have contemplated the Pro for the last couple months, for no other reason than I'm a gadget addict really. My real pause on this deal is that they're likely to announce a refresh with Pixelbook-level specs in the next 2 months, but that won't make these any less capable.

The Plus has been more than capable for everything the kids and I do regularly, and provided you have access to a solid network, remote desktop works really well for getting to a Windows environment if you need too.

Same ChromeOS caevats apply with the "I edit 16K video with 250 chrome tabs open while running Photoshop and Lightroom while playing Far Cry 7 at the same time" crowd. For everyone else, these are great machines.

yeah, my daughter's been asking for a Chromebook for light photo editing and schoolwork.. this seems like a winner for that.

I've been leaning towards the Asus C302CA, for the backlit keyboard and the silver deck - both features on my current Toshiba Chromebook 2015. Any reason I should choose the Plus over the Asus besides price if I had to replace my Toshiba?

If my Acer C740 weren't so awesome I'd be down with this deal. She's still purring right along though.
