Tempting. Too bad Destiny 2 looks like a bust according to the uToob. Might help heat one of the TV rooms. Every time I turn on the electric space heater I ask it why it's not printing any money and it just stares at me. I fear an altercation is imminent.

Honestly the reviews overstate D2's flaws. Its a good game, not a great game and it's being thrown in for free... If you buy the card you'll enjoy it and easily get 12-15 hours of enjoyable gameplay. D2's flaws come from the endgame and replayability.... but free is free!

Nothing is free you're always paying for it but in a different way. I would rather have no game and a $50 discount on the gpu

Takes 8-12 hours to beat the story and hit 20 if you play at a normal pace. Takes an additional 50+ hours to hit 305 if you run with a solid group and clear the raid/trials every week. You are also able to do this 3x (one of each class) which brings the total play time over 100 hours.

The expansion drops in 3 weeks which will add new content (raid, strikes, story, festivals).

Maybe you shouldn't listen to the haters. It is one of the best games to be released on PC in years. The game engine is amazing and its one of the best co-op games ever created. If you don't have friends to play with, join a clan (pm me for my clan info if you are looking for a 30+ clan that clears everything weekly).

As for the OP, this is a great card at a solid price. I own one.

I got 20-30 hours out of Destiny 2 and paid $50 (Amazon preorder). I enjoyed it a whole lot and can't wait for the DLC. Sure, I wish I got a bit more out of the base game, but I don't regret the purchase. Bungie cannot be beat when it comes to shooting mechanics

Lol you're telling me. I have ~120 hours on console, but I am taking my sweet time leveling up on PC and the church of unlimited frames.

Also with the ampere maybe 3 months away and being a huge leap in performance, I expect these to drop to mid range prices. I think it's a bit late in the game to be paying 600+ for a 1080ti.

I built a system with no card and i7-6700K and now using the intel 530 onboard graphics. It will play many games at low settings but I have been waiting for an upgrade and am tired of waiting.
Can anyone suggest a card I can buy now and get 1080P gaming while I am waiting for prices to come down to reasonable levels? I was thinking maybe the GTX 1050ti? Any suggestion would be appreciated greatly.

You will probably be waiting a while longer for prices on current high end gfx to come down. The 1080ti just came out and miners keep the prices for all cards inflated. The 1050ti is a good choice for something cheap that will let you play most things ok. It will be a big step up from onboard gfx. A bit more for a 1060 6gb / 580 instead will be a huge upgrade over the 1050ti if you can afford it, and a 1060 is considered minimum for vr. I set that as my minimum bar for my own upgrade to give myself a bit more breathing room until I need to upgrade again.
