Over-simplifying mostly. Its main purpose is to assist in the negotiation of how much power to transfer between older chargers and the device. It prevents damage to your device and your charger by ensuring that the device doesn't receive more power than it can handle at once, and no more is drawn from the charger than it can put out at once because the USB-C 3.0/3.1 standards allow for more power draw than most devices can put out or take in.

Really? What kind of electrical engineer doesn't understand that electrical resistance of a cylindrical wire is a function of the material's resistivity, its cross sectional area and *its length*?

That's a joke right?

A 56k ohm pullup resistor is the resistor that prevents damage to your device when you plugin the USB-C "upside down" since you can't tell which way is rightside up with USB-C

I'd get a smaller charger, they say the longer the chord the more it takes to charge. The shorter the cable, the faster it takes to charge.

USB type C is reversible... Doesn't matter which way u put it in similar to Apple lightning cables.

You'd need to support that with some documentation. i'm an electrical engineer and that makes no sense what so every. Gauge might impact charging however...

These will definitely Turbo/Quick/Fast Charge. I buy this exact package every time there is a deal like this. You won't have any problem, from my experience.
