bulb save money by checking your insurance every 2 years (and not every 20) Thanks Liberty Mutual for reminding me to shop. The $842 increase this year sums it up. Across the board increase for Ohio....whatever

you are going to hate my advice. spend money, see a shrink.

save money where you can but at the end of the day, what is the point in saving if you never enjoy it. my dad's only regret is waiting until retirement to enjoy life.

i'm 1/2 on that thought. The wife is 100% on that.
I say skip a vacation or 2 and save some money. She says she worked all year and WILL take it NOW.

I just hate to hear people saved all those years and died a year after retiring

I actually have a hybrid approach. I'll save up for something and then use the "savings" from it, or at least some of it to spend on other things, fun things down the line. For example I spent $17k to put a solar PV system on our house. Saved me easily $3k a year in electricity costs for my house and car. Sure it'll take 5.5 years to pay off but then it's all gravy! The EV was another case but admittedly it won't be a good case for everyone. There are a surprising # of similar things like that. Spent probably $200 on LED bulbs a couple of years ago and they paid off in about a year, etc..

So I say spend $ on things that can save you $ and then use some of the savings for fun, in the long run you'll have more $ to spend on fun things if you do this than if you didn't!
