Ace Hardware has the 2017 Kamado Joe Classic smoker on sale for $699.99 w/ free pickup at a local store. You can get the price down to $629.99 using promo code WINTER17.

This is the lowest price I've ever seen from a trusted retail location. While the picture may not match, the model number they are selling is the latest and greatest!

Although I recognize the quality I can't get myself to spend this much. I have a AKorn Jr kamado for my small smokes, and built a smoker out of a double wall oven that I use for everything else.

This is a great deal for anybody looking for a kamado. KJ makes a BIFL product!

oh, my. If I didn't buy a BGE last year, I'd definitely be picking this up!

This is a great deal for Akorn users to upgrade from steel to ceramic. Don't think twice -- these things rarely go on sale, especially at ~$300+ off!

Is this the 2017 model? The pictures on Ace's website show the older model, but the model number (KJ23RHC) seems to be the 2017 model. If it's the old model, it's a pretty good deal. If it's the new model, run, don't walk, to get it. Costco roadshow price on this is $969, so....

Edit: Answered my own question. The old classic model is the KJ23RH. The 2017 adds the "c" to the end of the model number. So despite Ace's pictures, this is the new 2017 model, which is the only version I'd buy if I were in the market.

If you're considering it, hurry up. If these exist at this price, they'll be gone nationwide in <24 hours.

Yes. Costco Roadshows have had them the cheapest if you could get to one and that was around $800 after tax.

Unless I missed a price drop on the Costco roadshow, these were always $969, never around $800. This is a steal.

Looks like almost no stores have them, but you can order and ship to store for free and pick up in a week or so. Crazy that you get these at this price.

The new version of these are so nice. The hinge, gasket, firebox, and divide and conquer system are enough to make a BGE owner jealous Smilie

I was actually at Ace earlier today looking for some KJ spice rubs for a Thanksgiving smoked turkey, and all they had were green eggs everywhere and no KJ stuff. I wonder if they're not selling KJ any more company wide and that's why the huge discounts.

They'd fire sale some of their demo units at the end for the discounted price, but you are correct the non-demo units were $969 NIB.

I bought the Classic II at Costco about six months ago for $969. This is an amazing price if it is the new version.
