When you are rushing a leaking tray of food into your kitchen, it's pretty great to be able to tell your smart home to turn on the kitchen lights.

It's also great (with some bulbs) to be able to turn a lamp from a warm white for relaxing to a bright white for reading, etc.

For this and other situations like this, I installed ONE Lutron occupancy sensor to control my 9 can LED lights for $20. Probably the most used home automation in my household.
It turns on when needed.. automatically (I dont need any WIFI or hubs). It turns off when we forget to turn it off or when our hands are full when walking out of the kitchen... automatically.
This is why I havent been able to make my up mind to spend $30 on "smart bulbs" eventhough I like the color changing aspect of it.

This is some real bullshit here. I don't care how "smart" this bulb is... It is a goddamn light bulb... $50 for 4 freaking bulbs????? Whatever idiot buys these deserves to be ripped off
Same reason there are $15k cars and $1.5m cars. The real bullshit is... your lack of understanding.
