Dolby Vision Firmware update should be re-released by the end of the year.

I was waiting for this to come back down, but I've since picked up an Xbox One X. I hope they release a DV update for the X. Seems like a no brainer since Microsoft wants their console to be a media center.

YAY! And it ships!

Where did you see that the Dolby Vision upgrade will be re-released?

I already own an Xbox One S that I've been using as a UHD player, but it's been pretty frustrating. So many times I get errors trying to play back discs, or weird stutters after resuming. Between that and not hearing anything from MS about a Dolby Vision update, for $129 I figured it's worth grabbing. Reviews seem pretty good too.

They've always said "by the end of the year", and they haven't said otherwise after pulling the initial firmware update due to some bugs.

My first 4K disc was Independence Day Resurgence I got used for $3 from someone on LetGo. I plan to get Fate of the Furious 4K and Wonder Woman 4K from Best Buy on Black Friday. I can also finally watch some real 3D stuff (my computer was sketchy with it). Can't wait!!!

The important question : has the noise issue when playing 4k disc been resolved with this player.

I bought Planet Earth 2 and it looked and played flawlessly on the X. Just need Dolby Vision and I'm good. I have it connected to an LG B7 OLED.

this is very tempting... but I wonder when a new generation of players, built for DV, will be released?

Was unaware of such an issue (kind of new in looking into a 4k/3d blu-ray player with DV). Is this "issue" solved by a firmware upgrade or something?
