How's the 940mx hold up for gaming? I know it's not a powerhouse by any stretch but can it run modern games at decent settings?

looking at low settings to mid low at best to get around 50-60 fps, medium maybe at 30 fps.

It seems like any 2280 SATA III M.2 SSD can be added and used in addition to the 1tb HDD

Aside from 4GB more RAM, is there any reason to buy this over this much more powerful HP Envy for the same price?

I don't think it even meet minimum requirements for newer games. you can play older titles on med-low setting but nothing that's new.
