not sure what this is for.. hahahaha

I guess maybe xbox 1x to fw900 ?

Not sure why you'd do that.. because this adds latency.. so what ever gains you'd have from the fw900 is removed by having this intermediate..

it's for when all you have is a digital out (like HDMI) and your displayonly has an analog in (like VGA)

you can't just get a regular passive adapter, you need an active converter like this. the only thing this is useful for is if you have a really old TV/monitor/projector that has no digital input like DVI or HDMI

Just started looking for one of these on Sunday for my daughter as she is a teaching professor and now is required to buy a new Chromebook and be able to connect it to the different VGA or HDMI projectors she finds in each class. Her old broken down netbook had both connections but none of the newer ones have VGA ports as I guess only the colleges still use equipment with it.

I wish I could find an affordable alternative to the Chromebook so she would have a larger usable hard drive but she needs the smaller 11.6" size and they don't make netbooks like they used to.

The reviews are good and this deal is even sweeter with it having audio out along with the great price when using the code.

Thanks Matinikk -

Friend has one of these, extremely flaky. Doesn't work half the time. Also of note, do not try to use a vga cable longer then 6-8 feet as the signal will to weak on the other end.

I bought this the last time it was on sale and it worked like a charm to connect an old VGA monitor to my PC's graphics card HDMI port. Now I have a 2nd monitor so I can chat on a forum while watching the football game on my main monitor.
