Can I not buy it right now for $329, then use Credit Card price protection to file a claim for $250 with screenshot from BB/Walmart etc during BF, and combine the $80 price protection claim and the $50 rebate together to get this effectively for $199?

Am I missing something here, do Chase Sapphire and Discover etc not honor price protection on BF/Thanksgiving? Or everyone else is missing above trick?

The thumbs down did actually make me question myself whether I am missing something !!

Being in CA, if I buy this from either of BB, Walmart, Target on BF, I will pay $249 plus tax, so around $269.

If I however buy it from Adorama, and combine the MIR and price protection (I just checked Citi includes Black Friday promotions also), I buy it outright for $329 and no tax, and get $80 and $50 back in price protection and rebates respectively. Or would the receipt have the mention of rebate and the price protection will get shot down?

$269 vs potentially $199. And the better deal is getting thumbs down ConfusedConfused

Hey iconian - You do think what I am trying to do above is all OK and achievable, right? I was hoping you do notice my comment and confirm my thought process Smilie

It states on the Citi web site that the purchase price is to be "after rebates".

But unless your receipt specifically mentions the rebate, or they check the Adorama web site, I doubt they would know about the rebate.

So the answer is... Nobody knows until someone gives it a try! Peace

I'm going the Target route.

$250 - 5% Redcard discount + tax = $252 in my case. And in-store return/exchange if needed.

I purchased one on 16th, getting delivered tomorrow for $329 no tax in CA.

The order email and order details online do have a mention of $50 rebate. However the shipping email I got which has the invoice number also, has an option of downloading the invoice, which as luck turns order has no mention of the rebate, it flat out says $329 !

I am going to use it for price match with Citi. If everything goes fine, I would have paid $329 upfront and $3-$4 for shipping the rebate form, and would get back $50 rebate and $80 check for price protection, and $6.6 from a certain cashback website. All in all, less than $200 with 2 years extended coverage from Citi card !!
