It looks like Micro Center has stepped up its deals in light of what other stores have been offering. The "sweet spot" of the lineup is the Ryzen 1700X, which is priced at $259.99, just $10 more than the Ryzen 1700:
In my opinion, it's worth the extra $10 whether or not you plan to overclock. If so, you might get a better binned chip; if not, you'll get a small performance boost over the 1700. The only downside to the 1700x is that it doesn't include a CPU cooler.
If you need a cooler included, the Ryzen 1700 includes the Wraith Spire cooler, which I've heard is decent enough, and it may overclock just as well as a 1700x:
Buy a motherboard with your Ryzen CPU and you'll save $30 extra. If you're looking to overclock, I recommend the ASRock Taichi X370:
If you don't need to overclock, a less expensive model should work just as well, but I haven't looked at those motherboards specifically.
