Virgin America, Hawaiian Airlines, Delta Airlines, American Airlines and United Airlines all have a really nice $396 round trip, NONSTOP airfare to Honolulu (HNL) or to Maui (OGG). Hurry, Google flights says "15% fare increase likely in 13h".

FYI, Hawaiian Air still serves a complimentary hot meal, in case perks matter.

Travel Availability - Departing LAX
To HNL: Nov 28, 29, 30; Dec 5, 6, 7, 12
Returns: Dec 3-7, 11-14, 18-21, 25-26

To OGG: Nov 28, 29; Dec 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13
Returns: Dec 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 25-27

You may book directly from your choice of airlines or just use Priceline [priceline.com], Expedia [expedia.com] or Orbitz [orbitz.com] and it will bring up available flights, airlines and times best matching your search. Bundling hotel with airfare will save money.

I was thinking the same thing. Sort of a pre-emptive strike to drain customers now before SouthWest enters the market. I read somewhere that Southwest is ready, but there are some government permit stuff they have to work through first.

Smilie But sometimes, there really are stops. Like SAN->HNL via SFO. They don't stop in the ocean, haha, but they can drag you the in the opposite direction and waste some time.

From my research my guess sw won't start flying to Hawaii until closer to end of 2018. flights will be on sale sooner for trips later the year
