Logitech Harmony Companion + Amazon Echo Dot (2nd gen) for $130

The Logitech Harmony Companion can control your home theater using voice commands through Alexa. The remote can also be used to control some home automation items such as Philips Hue, WeMo, etc. Amazon is throwing in an Echo Dot (2nd gen) and lowering the price. Normally, the universal remote alone is about $140-150. This particular offer is for $130 and you get an Echo Dot. This is the lowest price shown on Camel Camel Camel as well.

This is a pretty solid universal remote that gets high marks from CNET (https://www.cnet.com/products/log...on/review/)

If you want to trust them not to attempt to brick your purchase in a couple years because of certificates.

Not sure if you read the article you linked. But the Harmony Hub is the newer model. The Harmony Link is the older model that is getting retired (and they'll send you a new Harmony Hub free if you have the older model).

Included in this bundle is the new Harmony Hub

certainly if you are considering this the old news on them bricking the old version of the hub (the link) is no reason not to buy.

The reason not to buy this is it is not a good price. The Harmony companion remote is not getting you a ton of value vs the package that is regularly on sale for 60 to 80 bucks. So if you really want this remote it is a small upgrade for about regular price. If you were already in the market jump in, but not enough extra value here if you were not already looking. and probably note better than grabbing the base model and a black friday deal on a dot.

If by "getting retired", you mean they tried to pull one over on their customers and received a PR beating so they had to replace them.
