Verizon Prepaid is a headache. Avoid unless it's for personal use.

I had a 3G Verizon prepaid LG Optimus Exceed 2 that even after being used both post and prepaid on VZ to satisfy their unlock requirements is not accepted on Red Pocket or any other VZ MVNO. Verizon states that my phone is indeed unlocked
Has anyone been able to unlock and use on Red Pocket for Verizon network?

XLNT phone - using it this minute. My last phone was an LG G4 and this is way better except the LG camera beat this by a bit. For $39 this camera is actually very good, I have no problem using and posting the photos. A steal, really. May buy a spare.

As op said, the beauty of this phone is you can unlock it for use on GSM networks for $2. It won't work on Sprint or Verizon postpaid! But if you want to take this to a cheap GSM plan, like T-Mobile, AT&T, or their MVNOs, this is an unbeatable phone for the price.

Potential small headaches if you don't know you'll have to do these things:

1) Get APN settings for your carrier. For example, this phone works perfectly on T-Mobile, but I had to switch APN settings; at the default, it would use data and text, but voice calls didn't work. Easy to fix with a little Google ("t-mobile android apn settings"), but if you don't know what that is, you might think it just won't work.

2) You can remove the "non-Verizon sim card" notification that pops up once every reboot. If it isn't worth the hassle to you, just swipe it away and it should stay gone til you reboot. But you can permanently remove it. I don't have a link handy, but it's a simple adb command. The hassle here is getting adb installed and configured on your computer. Once you do that, it's a simple terminal command to uninstall the package that throws up that notification.

Edit: I see it's already out of stock, haha. Well, I know this is SD so I may not get a good reaction from this, but this phone is still a steal at $60 from Target Smilie They've also dropped it down to $40 occasionally, and will pricematch Walmart if Walmart is back in stock but Target is more convenient for you.

How many of these same E4 threads do we need??

The previous frontpage deal was NOT ONLY available in store. Online is/was available all these time -> just that it is sold-out most of the time. I brought one (of my 2) online successfully ... you just need to be there at the right time when it is in stock.
