LoL that's funny, but it's indeed a Dell Chromebook. Also the title was copied from the last deal. Now it has been changed. Thanks bro

How does this model compare to the Samsung Chromebook 3 with 4gb Ram and 32GB SSD offered by Best Buy on Black Friday?

I've been looking at the Samsung Chromebook 3 as well. The Dell CB11 has a Haswell (2013-era) Celeron 2955u processor, which some folks say is much better than the Braswell Celeron N3060 in the Samsung. CPU benchmark comparison sites seem to show them to be pretty close, with the N3060 having a large edge in power consumption. The CB11 battery appears to last 3-ish hours depending on workload (modulo wear, this is a refurb), and the Samsung Chromebook 3 seems to run for 10-ish hours. The Dell CB11 should be more durable. Neither one was reviewed as having a great screen.

The Dell will be supported by ChromeOS until January 2019, and the Samsung until December 2020. Neither has current production support for installing Android apps from the Play store, but higher-end CB11 models do have that. The Samsung does have Play Store support in the beta channel. Neither has a touch-screen, so those apps might be a challenge to use anyway.

Given the battery life and refurb nature, I'm planning to grab the Samsung.

It does look like the Acer R11 is a stronger competitor than either of these two if you're in the sub-$200 realm. Dropping the price cap to $125, though, and these two units rise to the top IMO.

have been debating whether or not to get my son in kindergarten a cheap laptop...we've done a good job of keeping him away from tv, video games, ipad, etc. He thinks an hour of Star Fall on the tablet is a treat.

$116 might have me convinced...just curious what age appropriate educational material he'll be able to access with this...for free.

I ordered one. picked it up and opened the box and it had horrible scratches all over it. someone even carved the letter "M" into the palm rest. returned it immediately. what a waste. I've purchased plenty of refurbished computers in the past but this was crap.
