According to several of the reviews, the "frustration-free" packaging option is apparently just the normal LEGO box shipped inside a brown outer carton/box. Not sure why they are implying it's a different packaging from the normal LEGO retail packaging, but if the reviews are to be believed then there is no real difference between the two packaging options.

I bought this, it comes in a lego labeled cardboard box but inside that is the full retail Lego box

Not 100% true. I had ordered the FF packaging and Amazon just stuck a shipping label directly on the retail box. It arrived at my house in damaged condition. To be safe always select the "Ship in Amazon box" option at checkout.

Who wants frustration free packaging on a lego set? And I wonder what that looks like.

I got the frustration free packaging and you can see pictures in a review on amazon. It's better packaging because they put the normal Lego box in a "frustration free box" which is an exact size carboard box. It protects your lego box perfectly!!! It is the retail release in a box that keeps the lego box from getting beat up in the mail. BUT it does say "Lego" and "Toys" on the box that ships.

Thanks for the suggestion to "ship in Amazon box". I would have missed that.

No LEGO for the kids this year at Chrismas. They are all grown anyway. This is for me. Smilie

I screwed it, and ordered like that. Box was torn, shipping label on it, taped, and felt tip pen on it. Not a collector item
