Isn't it always that price? I've never seen it for more than $50 anywhere. Well, normal places that is.

It's been $50 a few times, all FP. Per CCC, it's often higher and it's also never been $49 before.

Just a heads up...My Sam's Club still has the $128 kit deal that was posted a couple of weeks ago. They had plenty of them... so I am sure it's common stock B&M.

If you look around, you should be able to find the regular price of it. It is only down to $50 more or less regularly in recent weeks. It was a deal even when it was $80 several months ago.

Anyone have a good suggestion for using smartthings as a security system? I bought the hub and two door sensors, then I realized that I need a "chime" so that I have a way of knowing when the doors are opened. Also what is the best camera to use for this? I would like motion detection and some cloud storage if possible. I currently have an Amcrest Pro HD that I really like but I can't figure out if its compatible.

The system will text you when the doors are breached no need for a chime.
Also we have an ecobee 4 with 5 room sensors and smart things pulls thos as motion sensors for the 'security setting' in case there is an intruder in rooms and bypassed entry doors

I have the same setup as you. SmartThings with few door/motion sensors, sirens and Amcrest camera. By compatible camera - do you mean a camera that records when SmartThings detects a breach?

Can just put any independent motion sensing + recording cameras (Arlo-Q or Nest Indoor) inside which will do its own thing?

I believe Arlo-Q integrates with ST too if you want to tie up the security event in SmartThings to Arlo (verify this though)

On the other hand if 24 hr recording cameras with a paid plan is what you are gonna have, then there is no need to look at any Smartthings integration at all.

The text would work great for when you're not in the house but wouldn't it make sense to have a chime to immediately alert anyone at home that the doors have been breached? I don't know about you but I don't have my phone in my pocket every second I am at home.

I do maybe 20/7... not always in the room when it's charging, which isn't always overnight. Smilie

I was only thinking of a possible reason for the chime.

Look for the Utilitech Indoor Siren (Lowe's carries it as it's compatible with their Iris system as well - also their door sensors and motion sensors work with ST.)

I'm in the same boat as well. There's an alarm device sold on ST website that looks like it'll do what you want.

I've read somewhere someone was able to blast an alarm using a echo(?) speaker but I didn't research on how to make it work.
