Very interested, on Sprint free year plan - Sprint.com says I'm eligible for Flex Lease and Full price. Doesn't say either way on straight financing.

My one concern is that people on Sprint have reported issues with the Sprint variant being unlocked and working on other carriers - which I would want as I have other carrier SIM cards too.

According to Samsung.com the Sprint version does have the other LTE bands, despite a different model number (SPH-G950 not SH-G950). After 60 days and paying off financing, Sprint is supposed to unlock the phone on-request. Net-net, I'm only out $150, so I may give it a try.

I thought, from the title, it means $450 for the phone and $350 GC, that would be a slick deal.

The S8 at Sprint directly is 50%off on flex lease. No gift card.
Edit 50% off lease payments not ppo. Sprint lease gimmick not a deal.

NO.
"Offer requires device Installment/payment plan and eligible carrier service." So you need the device on dpp for at least 2-3 months + on a plan. After getting the rebate you can cancel line and sell

My understanding of Flex Lease was you get the option at the end of the lease to buy the phone at the remaining balance from full retail price. Not really any savings if you want to keep the phone, which I usually do, to resell.

Unless I'm wrong? I don't see value in doing Flex Lease, I would rather get $300 off on the purchase price.
