Generally runs around $20 per C3, but looks like it was even lower for a bit.

Title is misleading. This isn't a self watering pot (where you add a bunch more water than usual), but "you only need to water the top". Yeah, handy way to use the thing they're selling, but...not what I wanted. I tend to kill my plants by over or under watering, manually, and I wanted something that would slowly add water for me through capillary action or whatever.

I'd seen pots with an extra area and some mechanism for the water to come into contact with the soil, slowly. Then the plant takes what it needs (or the water evaporates slowly, etc).

Yeah a bit of plastic for $30? I felt the same way looking at very thin 6" plastic pots at Lowe's last night for a few dollars a piece. I swear the cost to make this stuff is like pennies.

Each pot is $1 at my local dollar store. I bought 30 and made 3 towers of 10 sitting on a home depot bucket with pvc pipe down the middle. Each pot had 3 divisions instead of these that have 4.

Yep same here, can be had at the dollar store, but that's only during the spring and summer, they don't have this stuff in the winter
