That's not a fair statement and here's why. We are a community of cheap bastards with very diverse interests. While we may fight, argue, joke, and complain at times, we trust each other's opinions. For instance, want an inexpensive, but good, guitar, ask the Linux crew. He's a great resource. There are other pseudo-experts always willing to offer assistance with topics they have experience with. And best of all, you know the person isn't giving an opinion that was purchased.

How much do these usually sell at? Also, how does this compare to the Zoom ones. Sorry, I do not have any experience with audio recorders.

I have the zoom h1. Sound is great with lapel mic but battery life isn't that great and listening t files on the device is impossible bc there is no useable menu to navigate files..

So tempting, even though I have absolutely no need for it.

Great Deal - I bought this last year for $107 and i thought that was a great price. I'm using this at our church to record the Sermon to post on website.

you can also connect a usb cable for power if you don't want to deal with batteries.

Maybe not the best, as it's a stereo recorder with a pretty wide field. You'd get furnace noises, people walking, birds outside, you name it. Better to grab a shotgun style with limited side lobe gain. Depends on your use case, though. If you are looking to do it more cheaply, it's hard to beat. If your interviews are informational and not for broadcast, it might be fine.
