Don't! If you shop at BJs they will have 3000 for the same price on Black Friday wee, in a two pack setup, and no rebate required.

How does this compare to the Oral-B Pro 2000 model which is being sold as a two pack at Costco for $64.99?

I have this one and it builds up quite an amount of mold on the base and where the replacement ends. This is even after drying it. Definitely trying to upgrade to the 3000 or 5000.

Bought this model last year from Walmart for $20 after rebate. Working great, this one battery is last for long time... never seen any mold as other described.

The mold probably is coming from your house. You should have professional check.

They recommend taking the head off after use. Even when I take it off, it inevitably gets some smell after a few months, but I guess that's expected. I usually change brush heads at that point. Replacement heads are pretty cheap, and you should be changing them anyways.

Do the more expensive ones solve this problem? I've used the cheap Sonicare, and that was a annoying to take apart. At least with the Oral B, it's quick and easy.
