Rtings has this rated above most anything in its class, even against the 2017 models, even though this is the 2016. This is not the same as the new MU series...that is a lower end series.
From rtings site: "The Samsung KS8000 is the predecessor to this year's Q7F. Surprisingly, it performs better than the new QLED TV in a lot of tests. Both contrast and peak brightness measure well above what the Q7F was able to output, especially in SDR. The Q7 does do better with color volume, and this does help with HDR content. However, it is impossible to justify the expense of the QLED TV over the previous model. Pick whichever you find at a lower price"

Are you a veteran, but not an exchange member yet? Did you know the exchanges will be opening to all honorably discharged veterans starting November 11th? Head on over to https://www.vetverify.org/ and begin the verification process to sign-up! It's not only a nice benefit for veterans, but also a great boast to funding the MWR and other projects that shopping the exchanges helps facilitate.

I really hoped the community would have evolved a bit over these past weeks of posting Aafes deals, that those who just TD out of pettiness would have had a change of heart and stopped trolling their fellow SD'ers, stop trying to take away from others out of spite...but I guess this is still not the case.
So it's a shame this has to be said, but please be respectful of your fellow SD'ers who served, or are spouses of those who sacrificed as past and present members of the armed forces, and try to resist your urge to troll. Yes, it's frustrating when you don't get the same benefits for free that others worked for and earned, we understand that....and we also understand that not everyone could serve...but please show respect and don't down-vote JUST because you do not qualify and JUST out of spite. There are many deals on SD that limit participation based on location or other limiting factors (in store only, Fry's, Microcenter, local utility deals, etc), this is no different. Judge the deal on it's merit and for it's target audience, don't be a troll.

I second what dremagus just said. This is a deal NOTIFICATION site.... so what about the people who live in states where they charge tax, but other states get the deal without tax...why not down vote those also just because YOU live in the wrong state.
Or when it's a micro center that's 2 hours away and not worth YOUR time, that too.. hell, unless every person on the planet can take advantage of the deal, it just gets down voted????
This is a great deal on a 2016 model that is better than the 17 model that replaced this price range for samsung.
What about a bogo from Tmobile when you have verizon and they are not offering it. Down vote that too????
Grow up guys, I will once again say what should be obvious. THIS IS A DEAL NOTIFICATION SITE!!!!!
What is so hard to understand about that. If Gain detergent goes on sale and you use Tide should it be down voted based on that alone? Should you try and stop Gain users from having their day in the sun getting a good deal?
Please keep your down votes to pricing value based on the item. Not whether or not you can take advantage of a deal. You want AAFES deals....go join the military like millions of us already did.

On another note, this can be had with the welcome codes, so add your spouse if you have already used your own 15% off coupon and you can get it for 2499 - 374.85 (15% welcome coupon) = 2124.15 and no tax and free shipping.
super slick deal.

super slick deal.
Are there still welcome codes that work, I thought they all expired and no more? I got the 15% off, but got it for first charge on star card... It'd be great if I could add the wife and get another 15% discount!

Look again. Not in the last week. None of the welcome codes currently work.

Yes, the veterans dale sale probably messed up the coupons.
I am waiting for that to be over so I can add my wife and see if I can get a code for her for the rest of nov time frame. Probably going to add her in the next few days once this veterans sale ends.
Hopefully there will be new info on welcome codes in the next week or so.

Just clear out the place and make the room, it'll be worth it! But seriously, this thing is a beast...I upgraded from a 51" plasma, and wow, I thought that thing was heavy. Took a bit for us to get used to the size, it's massive...but so worth it!

I'm trying to register an account but it isn't recognizing my service with the Air Force. I was honorably discharged in 1957. I went to vetverify.org and I need to upload my DD214. How long will it take to have my account verified and start shopping?

I would try to contact them to find out...taken from their website "Veterans can email VetVerify at CustomerService@vetverify.org, call 1-844-868-8672 (toll-free) or chat online with a customer service representative." You can try a online chat using https://chat.vetverify.org/VetVer...fyChat.htm Or call them (not sure the hours)

From review sites, most notably rtings.com. The KS9000 was the flagship of 2016. The MU is not, and does not sue the Quantum Pixel tech. The Q series is the flagship line. This makes the MU the mid-tier.

You can read through the reviews and stats on both tv's. Just an bit from the question and answer section: "Thank you for your review of the MU9000. May I ask, based on your experience testing both this model and last year's KS9000, which would you advise as the better over all performer, since prices are currently similar between the two models (75in)?
We've found the KS9000 to be a better performing TV overall. It's picture quality is better in general, mostly thanks to the higher contrast and wider color gamut. It also gets a little brighter, which is a plus."

But I would read through the whole of the reviews. They even had this to say regarding the KS8000 vs the Q7F: "The Samsung KS8000 is the predecessor to this year's Q7F.
