$1500 at many stores including BH as of this morning. Seems this is the going rate for holiday sales.

Will be ordering from Crutchfield to save the tax and no shipping. Plus get cash back.

I want the 75" version of this but why such a high price jump just for 10" more almost double the price. At this rate I may just settle for 65" but that means i'm only upgrading from 60 to 65" but would save some money though.

Unless you get the 75" 850 series. Not sure how much of a difference in picture quality there is though.

65" is the new sweet spot. They are heavily produced which brings cost down. Also, a 75" tv is 37% larger than a 65"... So the price jumps are pretty justified.

I'm in the same boat as you though... I have a 60" panasonic plasma that I'm trying to part with but there's no way to find a local buyer around here. Bleh.

From what I've seen, the 900E has a fair bit of advantage on the 850E. Primarily due to the FALD (Local Dimming). I have no personal experience with either, but various ratings and reviews have mentioned this makes a big difference.

I went for this one in the end. Quality over Quantity in this case.

I haven't thought about 10in being 37% more, that's a whole heck of a lot of TV, especially in 1400 square foot apartment. Thanks for putting it in perspective!

We are in the exact same scenario. I also have a 60" plasma LG TV and I know it won't get anymore than $200-$300 on CL at best so no point trying to sell it. I'll just put it in the garage or patio so if it gets stolen i won't cry too much. But with all the sale going on for the 65" i'm almost tempted to throw in the flag and settle for 65" even though it's only 5" upgrade. But I must stay on course and try to find 75" since I only buy/upgrade TV once every 5yrs. so this is for the long term.

I'm also a 60" Plasma owner with a ST50 model. I have been hunting for a steal on a 75" 900E. All these 65" deals are killing me because it's still technically a size up, but my heart is set on the 75" 900E. My new house has a 19x19 family room and make my 60" plasma looks like a toy now. Definitely holding out for a 75" 900E deal.

B&H is a far better deal with free ship/no tax. Buying from Best Buy will add about $120 in tax for most people in the US.

Crutchfield also has it for $1500 with 3% cash back at bfrugal, no tax and free ship.

So I ordered it through Amazon with no tax. Is best buy matching the price of no tax and store pick up?

Would be highly unlikely for BB to price match $0.00 tax.
