Same price at B&H [bhphotovideo.com] with free expedited shipping (NO TAX for some).
Amazon [amazon.com] is offering the same price with free shipping. - Amazon can be stacked with 5% CB from Discover (if you have signed up for this quarter and your Discover cards supports that) or other cards.

Only 4K UHD players out that support DV are the Oppo 203/205 which cost a hell of a lot more. The LG UP970 promised a DV update which it released and then pulled about a week later, and people are still waiting for it.

They don't compare. One is standard Blu-ray and this one is UHD 4k.

Does the Xbox one-s do HDR? Would it compare to a standalone player in most aspects? (Load time, picture quality, features, etc.)

Everyone keeps referring to this as a stand alone blu ray player.

I thought this was a 4k with HDR player.....the same one that smoked Samsung's 4k player.

Maybe I'm not looking at the details right but a 4k HDR player at $150 is practically half price.

BTW: Xbox doesn't have Atmos.

One of the best dedicated players on the market.
But just so you know, it does not have an optical out, just coax and a second hdmi.

I think it's a hard choice, at least for me, between the UBP-X800 and the UP970.

=Both Dual HDMI
=Both 3D Blu-ray Playback
=UP970 Optical Output, X800 only digital coaxial RCA Style
=X800 couple more usable video apps although I wouldn't be using it for that UP970 just Netflix and Youtube but neither are impressive and both are lacking and redundant from other devices I own (Roku - LG OlED TV). + Fire stick, Chromecast, PC...
=X800 better sound, but opinions vary about the video quality depending on what looks best to them. (This is the one that worries me the most since I have no way of seeing the two side by side on the same preferably OLED display since that is what we have). = And some of those Youtube posters that do have comparisons are just AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!! -- I'm NOT DONE ---> They do an AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Job and the worst one of them has 11K subscribers and they constantly are thanking him vomit
=UP970 some are already using Dolby Vision, there is speculation as to why it was pulled but no real answers that I have seen. Given that I will not be buying an OppO this paired with the OLED if it works well would be a long term purchase as D.V. comes into it's own and 4K UHD prices drop. IF I knew for sure that next year there would be a (Dual HDMI + optical out, + 3D Blu-ray Playback, + Dolby Vision I would wait it out.)

=Build quality heavier/sturdier X800 but then again you shouldn't be stacking components onto one another anyway so as long as UP970 fixed the drive noise problem and it seems to have been corrected after April this is another non-issue to me.

I don't know if I missed any key points....Well maybe price Fry's $129.99 with short lived Free Shipping on the UP970 vs $149.99 on the X800 so far.
