They are Helium, so is the $130 WD 8TB last week. HGST does not make non-helium 10TB.

Yea that's why the comparison is dumb. But I'd rather get 16TB of storage for 260$>10TB of faster storage for 300$. Now if this were meant as a primary drive now that's a different story. But people wouldn't use HDDs as primary these days.

To my understanding, the BB drive, which is $130 on BF, is a different model from the existing drive which was been on sale for $160-$180.

the WD at BB for 130 is a white label drive. people say its a relabeled red drive. has the same firmware and specs. 5400rpm is better for NAS anyways.
