What are your main speakers? Im running polk rtia series and trying to decide whether the timber matched 70rt are worth the money or just go with these.

these are matched to the rti series just as the 70rt are. these are 2 way speakers and the 70rt are 3 way speakers.

Most of the experts agree that there's no need to concern yourself with timbre matched over head speakers. This is due to their location in relation to your head and the acoustical environment they are in. The same speaker will "sound" different if placed behind or over your head.

Ended up ordering 16 and 14 gauge wire and a few extra banana plugs. I'll find a use one way or another.

I like these v's better. For atmos at least Rc80 is a lower line speaker. Especially the grilles/aesthetics. But sound and crossover quality as well are better on the V's

If you absolutely need more bass 1st and foremost and no sub now or planned, or a minimal sub, and no towers or large speakers at all, then maybe the 8" will benefit you

Otherwise id def stick with the v series.
The sheer grilles are almost invisible, virtually no outer border or plastic ring, and magnetic. And without grilles the v series look nicer as well

I have mc80's in my gym because its hard to get the subs to travel all the way around the huge room and the 8's fill in the gaps nicely. The rc are similar but i think they are the lowest line of all the polk in walls (either way not much different from the mc i believe ) and i would try to keep them for ambient audio/music only and less for critical listening/theater

That said for atmos overheads they will still work fine, but youll prob like the v's alot better in both looks and sound quality
