These are good at making things far away seem closer. Or making things close seem far away. Really makes you think....

would say yes ! but X8 or X7 'll give you a tag brighter image (assuming same grade optics!) + they are kind of on a heavier side (not a problem for me - ?! could be an issue for you) ! optics are super sharp and clear ! I wasn't watching birds laugh out loud alpine cows - super sharp (no flies!) / haze is there but not on whatever you are focusing - vivid beyond believe ! anyway - trade off is weight verses reach - brightness shouldn't be an issue ! Rock

Can anyone recommend a pair of binoculars that perform well for under $100. Or don't they exist? Weight is not a factor.

Not under $100, but there is another good deal on some Vortex Diamondbacks.

Try using a cheaper pair in the middle of the Pacific and get back to me.

Great binoculars for the money. If I didn't already own an older pair of Steiners, this would be part of my Christmas wish list.

At this price there probably isn't a better pair available, some of the less expensive models will work as well until you drop them for the first time.

There is a reason Steiner is used by the Military community around the world.

Great warranty and Adorama is an Authorized re-seller according to the Steiner website.

There are a lot of good binoculars out there for under $50, Amazon is a good place to start looking. These would be an example https://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-1...B07664W8B2

That said $50 binoculars are great looking off your deck or a balcony, but I wouldn't leave them in your truck or expect them work after getting bounced around in a bag.
