Not a bad deal considering the movement inside (seiko's nh35a). Solid beater watch.

Excellent watch from Invicta, probably their best watch. This movement is found in $150-$500 watches and costs about $40 to buy alone. Like most Invicta, it's covered with ostentatious labelling, but that can be removed. Very popular base for modding.

So much hate for this watch on YT and enthusiast forums. Most of it seems to be aesthetic; that this is a shameless copy of a Rolex Submariner. And, somewhat paradoxically, because the brand name "INVICTA" is engraved on the side of the case.

Can any knowledgeable SD'er explain what, if anything, beyond aesthetics makes this a crappy budget automatic watch? My frame of reference is the Seiko SNK805 field watch, which I adore. According to what I read, this Invicta also has a Seiko movement in it, except that it's a nicer Seiko movement than the SNK series.

FYI: I have no delusions of using any of my watches for actual scuba diving.

have the black version. Great beater watch and looks pretty good! Would not recommend immersing this in water. When I sweat my wrist turns orange from the quality watch band. Other than that worth the bux for sure.

For this price, this is a good deal. Just expect the thread on the crown to wear out after two years or so.

I've thought about getting this watch as a beater watch / experiment mod watch...

I just can't see myself wearing it in public b/c of the snob appeal from myself let alone the watch community.
They make some decent stuff, but the company shoots themselves in the foot w/ their exaggerated msrp's and other godawful models...

I always wonder why Invicta doesn't make the list price of each watch $6 million?
that way their discounts would look so much better.

This is not a bad watch at all considering price and movement. The company simply has a bad reputation and others do not like the fact it is basically a replica of Rolex.

I wouldn't even recommend Invicta to someone I don't like.

Bought one, was garbage. Bought another, was garbage. I said I'd never buy another, and then I was gifted one for Christmas. Same result. Garbage. Stick with citizen, ceiko, Casio, litterally anyone except for Invicta. Cheap cheap watches

By "beater" we mean, it can take a hit. Like, scratches and scuffs, while being in a reasonable price range meaning if worse comes to worse, you can simply replace the beaten watch because it's cheap. Obviously, you want to take care of it and not take it to the extreme like a hammer to the glass, or dropping it on concrete. Also, there's a really good seiko movement (nh35a) in there and for this price, this is basically a steal.
