wish it was the 12 pack, but overall still better deal than the eneloop pack with the 8aa and 4aaa

not as good as the eneloop 12pack for $19.99 though.

If we go by best price from the eneloop deals today, this pack should be priced 17.99, but it's 2.50 cheaper than that @ the additional cost of the rebate Stamp $0.49

Yes. I thought i saw them on ebay. I have heard of guys using car heater hose as a spacer for aa's in a c cell flashlight. I am going to try it.

eBay for cheap or Amazon has some too... The problem is AAs don't hold much mAh, and most things that require Cs and Ds need the extra mAh for longer run times between battery replacements. I've given up on using the spacers. Also seems like C and D devices are pickier because these are only 1.2v vs 1.5v.

The biggest issue I have with these for those needing a charger is this is a dumb charger that has to be run in pairs instead of being able to individually charge separate batteries for optimal performance.

I bought some generic C and D spacers on eBay. They have worked great in our baby equipment like swings and bouncy seats.

Isn't this a hot deal even without the charger? Eight AAs and four AAAs for $15.

I use the D for LED Mag-Lites and they work great. But I definitely could see where they would not be a good substitute.

Yes, I specifically said for those needing the charger that they may want a different deal. For those with a good charger this is still a good deal.

Makes me wonder if you could combine the aforementioned air hose trick with packing multiple AAAs in the one space to address the capacity issue to some extent (still wouldn't fix the voltage drop, but the question of whether the device worked would be the same with a standard spacer). Probably would need a thin piece of metal (or extra heavy duty aluminum foil) at either end to ensure good contact.

EDIT: Upon further thought, you'd have to use some foil (or some similar solution) to extend the length of the AAAs anyway.
