Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. Anyone have experience with having an amex offer right after buying something that wasn't eligible when purchasing? I literally have a $30 bb&b package that I put on my amex card being delivered today...return and rebuy or just contact amex?

Return and rebuy. It is much easier. Of course not sure if you can get the coupon that you may have applied

Me, I would contact Amex 1st, and if they say the start offer date was after your purchase and won't allow, and if it is worth whatever hassle you might entail returning etc. then you still have that option. Smilie

Don't forget to use any coupons too....

Well the guy I spoke to at AMEX was one of the first AMEX reps I've ever had that has not even tried to be helpful so that was pretty disappointing, but basically they're unwilling to help make it easier, have to return and rebuy in order for the offer to trigger on the card

This $5 back comes from amex...so use your bb&b $5 off $15 and 20% off coupons, so long as you spend $25 total on your amex card through bb&b, amex gives you $5 back on your statement

And if your are buying stuff at BB&B anyway ...

1) Buy a $25 BB&B gift card which each AMEX card that has the offer.
2) Use BB&B gift card(s) and coupons for your normal purchase = No need to be concerned about spending $25 in one transaction.

On the plus side, the gingerbread k-cups I ordered went back down to 3.19 from 3.99 so I'm actually saving more by re-ordering...I don't know how much of a PITA amex will be to deal with on returns though (since I just bought $~32 of stuff on the 15th, if I return it today and rebuy on the website will it trigger the offer or will it show a buy and then return negating the offer? (since returns usually post a few days later) I may just use my wife's card for this one, we don't shop at bb&b enough to use both offers...these amex rewards are sometimes proving to be a bit more hassle than they're worth
