Don't buy this. Wait for one with a 120hz panel to get the best out of the gtx 1070 at 1080p .

I see "no thunderbolt ruins the deal" on so many posts about laptops. What exactly would ruin it on a machine that already has a GTX1070?

"No thunderbolt" may ruin the deal 'for you', but most buyers searching for this laptop are not buying to specifically connect to an Apple monitor, or connect up to 6 monitors. Its also a 1070 and should power most gamer's demands for another 2 years or so.

I agree that getting the 120Hz version would be a better choice as well. It will probably drop to this price or lower soon.

Thunderbolt just allows someone to take a 2 year old laptop and stick one of those external GPU things on it and it'll run games like butter. Games are so GPU heavy for now and the GPUs are getting so inexpensive that thunderbolt is a worthwhile feature to invest in. It turns your laptop into an upgradable mobile PC. Imagine spending $500 on a 1080 with AC and destiny 2 codes to get modernized instead of getting forced to bulk buy another $1500 of components

look at the savings its $200 its a good deal for a gtx 1070 laptop. Do you really think they would lower the 120Hz variant by $300 or $350?!

A good deal is based on the lowest average price that the item has recently been going for.

For a 1070 laptop, its an 'okay' price (i've seen lower), but the 1070 would be better put to use with the 120Hz version. Patience is a virtue.

Had its 15 inch sibling 6 months ago, terrible cooling, on Witcher 3 ultra, lot of frame drops and temps on cpu(7700 hq) north of 93°C all the times, aka throttling. Don't know if larger form factors helps in cooling, otherwise it would be bad to have GTX 1070 and not be able to enjoy it to full extent.
