FYI - Master List of Black Friday Security Camera deals:
https://slickdeals.net/f/10731663-security-camera-security-camera-system-black-friday-2017-master-list

My Notes: Recommend avoiding 720p camera products in general as they are obsolete in general. Lots of better quality 1080p products out there now.

Do you have one in particular you recommend?

Hi Phildo,

Depends on what you're looking for.

I've got a few recommended security cameras mentioned in the Master LIst as well as ones I would recommend people avoid.

For my needs, these work, and for the price I am actually going to add a couple for the upstairs..

720p is fine for alerts and a quick look to see what my pupper is up to while I'm at work.

I've only set these up for indoor use, and they have not let me down yet.. If i do upgrade, these will be outdoor and garage / storage cams.. always good to have different ones.

Hope it helps.

Ip cameras run on their own network? WiFi cameras run on your home WiFi network? How do you get free cloud storage ? Google drive? What NARS are compatible ?

Have this camera, it's my first and only IP camera, overall, i dont think it's all that great. Picture quality is decent, but the app is junk and camera is only usable through said app. Set up was a pain, motion detection adjusting is a pain, settings are confusing and in broken english. Have twice had it turned on for motion recording and it didnt work so had to reset. Viewing and deleting recorded videos is cumbersome.

It runs off of your wifi and is viewable from outside wifi through app,

I paid 20 for this a while back for providing a review. It works 99 percent of the time. The video quality is acceptable. You can do PTZ and two way conversations using the app. The app is pretty basic and crappy. No rtsp access is what killed it for me. I have other IP cameras and they are all accessed through the universal IPcam phone app. With this you're stuck with the proprietary app.

Do you have a list of the best (your favorite) ones that run on the universal apps (and your fav app).. I have several different IP cams and only Foscam runs on my OWLR app

Ehh, there was a better brand name borderline pro style ONVIF poe IP camera on sale for $30ish each at frys last week. And regularly for a few bucks more. So this No name / no specific purpose 720p cam with no features doesnt seem worth much

From looking at that master list, the cheapest camera that allows you to move it in multiple directions from the App is going to be $59.99.
I currently have 3 of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
Which work great as baby monitors. I wouldn't call them security cams as some of their software issues limit how well they operate for security, IE not recording something motion detected until whatever it was is already out of frame.
As for the MIPC app that you have to use it really isn't bad as in it allows you to do the basic things you'd want to do and more than what a regular baby monitor would let you do.
It isn't as good as other software, but it all comes at half or less the price you'd be paying for something else.

To put it simple, if you are looking to upgrade from a regular baby monitor and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, buy some of these. If you want in home security, buy something else. If you aren't too sure, wait a few weeks as the cameras from LeFun seem to go on sale almost every month anyways.
