I purchased this a while back for the same price.
Has USB 3.0, HDMI, and mine has a std 320GB HDD.

Works great (better since I added 4GB more RAM).

Solid deal :-)Applause

also - has only DVD-ROM drive - can get replacement DVD-RW drive online for about $35, or just have a $12 external writer available...

Is 128 gb SSD enough these days? I got the i7 4th gen version with 1080p touch and 8gb ram for 450 on eBay. Love the build quality on these.

For minecraft or rocket league this would be fine. For anything harder you will want at minimum double the ram and a proper gpu(nothing intel). If you are buying for a "gamer" child you will get much better bang for your buck buying/building a desktop system.

How would this be for a 60-year-old mother who likes emails, internet shopping, and Netflix?

I don't know about rocket league. My old laptop is a 2nd gen quad core i7 with a gtx 460m, ssd, and 8gb of ram.

Rocket league on the lowest settings can't hit 60fps (even if you move the resolution down all the way). It is jerky as all get out and unplayable to me (used to playing at 144 fps on the desktop).

I have to think this old processor with integrated graphics would be appalling for rocket league.

Should be more than enough. Note that latitude is a work laptop series. Considering old cpu version.. for the tasks you mentioned- it should be smooth
