LG 43UD79-B 43" Ultra HD 4K IPS Monitor is $549.99 at Costco online from 11/17 through 11/27.
Use the $25 off $250 coupon that is available in store and the total is $524.99 shipped. Costco link will only show price if you are logged in, I think:

well i guess this is what i am looking for to compare to this shitty acer 32" VA panel

43" for hopefully no scaling need @ 4k- check
IPS - check
stand that is centered on the monitor and doesn't require a desk that is as long as the monitor - check
easily return to store (costco) - check

price -EH? is this a good price?

what are the reviews on this puppy?

comes out to $561 with tax after the $25 coupon which is still somewhat pricey for me

waiting for more people to chime in, even though I know I can easily return. first review talked about some edge shadows and that concerns me a lot because edge issues with the VA panel acer i have now is part of the reason i am still looking.

can someone comment about this:

Resolution is meh even though it is 4k. I have a Dell P2415Q (23 inch 4k), a Dell U2515H (25 inch 2k), and an Acer 28 inch 4k monitor. This LG one has the biggest pixel width. I mean I can literally see each pixel. And if I use 100% scale, the fonts are no way close to "smooth". It is almost unbearable to me and makes me want to return it. It has a pixel density of 103.67 PPI, which I thought it is smooth enough but it is not.

i thought 103.67PPI is pretty good, no?

This one isn't necessarily designed for use as one 43" 4k display. You can connect multiple devices to it or use it split as virtual displays. So you could consider it $561 for four connected FHD displays among other configurations

also this is concerning?

#1 It does not support display port 1.2 with an Nvidia geforce GTX 1060. So you will top out at 30Hz refresh rate. I reported this to LG and their response was "don't use Display port 1.2". Thanks but no thanks.

i read u could connect your video card twice and have two ultrawide top/bottom

i dont really have 4 devices to connect into it, but i do have the same need to split my desktop 4 ways or at least left/right. i do that on the acer 32" but i really hate the 32" VA panel i think

worried no one else is posting about this and thus whether there is something wrong with the monitor or if the price is just not that good. ...becoming a little desperate to come up with a better solution than the 32" ACer VA panel i bought

There is a long thread about this monitor on a forum that has a lot of discussion of computer stuff. It isn't a deal forum, but I don't know if I am allowed post a link to another forum here. But if I google "LG 43UD79 Information" that thread is the first result. If anyone knows that it is OK to post a link, please post one.

As far as whether the price is a good deal, there was a similar monitor in a Newegg deal recently here.

It was about the same price, but I know with Costco that I can return in store at no cost. I ordered one, but I won't open it until the black friday, cyber monday, etc. sales are over. If a better deal comes out, I can return this one.

You can post whatever links u want...trust me if slickdeals doesn't want you to, they will censor the link, but they won't for this type of link.

Also why won't you open it? U can still return even if u open it

OK I posted this link [hardforum.com] to the thread in the Wiki.

Why I may not open it:
1) If a deal comes along that is clearly better and I don't need to see this monitor to decide against it, then I don't want to take the time to set this up and then repack it.

2) I don't like to take advantage of a generous return policy just to try something out. It drives up the costs for everyone. So I won't open it unless I plan on keeping it. If it is defective or sub-par, of course I will return it.
