Our office bought this as a retirement present for a co-worker who was an avid Star Trek fan. It took him over a month to put together. He did say that it was definitely a conversation starter when he has guests over.

This was when BB was clearing them out over 6 months ago; I think at $79.99.

I really dislike how Megabloks has the franchise as opposed to Lego. Anyone have this and can comment on quality as it compares to Lego?

Took my wife and me 4 evenings to assemble. It was fun, bought for $100 from Best Buy when they were clearanced. Obviously megabloks are much worse than lego, but only had major trouble trying to put a layer of the saucer section together.

No regrets for $100. Not as good as Lego obvs, but I LOVE that all pieces are printed (no stickers)

This is the "old" Enterprise the model T of spacecraft kinda like buying an old Radio Shack TRS-80 Computer.

I'll hold out for the Enterprise- E complete with Quantum Torpedos and all the modern features which is more like lntels latest i7.

That's exactly how I feel about them having the Halo franchise too...I can only dream of quality Halo sets

I can't speak to this specific set, but I've put together several other Megabloks sets with my kids. Chief among these was a fairly substantial giant minion (Kevin, to be specific), which was nearly 800 pieces. No, Megabloks ain't Lego, but overall I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and consistency of the bricks in that set. Granted, I was expecting crap, but it came with all the right pieces (nothing missing), consistent coloring, and pretty good fit.

Giant Kevin has since been destroyed, and his components are now mixed in among similar sized/colored Lego bricks. I can tell the difference between the two (without straining to read the word "LEGO" on every stud), but they're a lot closer than I thought they'd be.

I just finished building this, and you could say the results are out of this world... Very nostalgic piece, and the shimmering lights on the nacelles bring the enterprise to life.

One thing I don't like is that the nacelle lights only illuminate when you press them, and then only for 5 seconds or so. I wish there was a way to keep them on all the time.

The other thing is this set is often missing pieces. It's a common complaint. Mine was missing 3-4 minor ones. I was able to substitute with some of the extra pieces they included (though they were the wrong color).

The pieces don't always press together well, either. Some you REALLY have to push. But with some muscle you can eventually get them all on.

That said, this finished set looks incredible. I love it.

3000 pieces! Wowza! I'd totally buy this if it were the Enterprise from Next Generation. Never been a fan of the original.

I have this, and I think it is a good deal at $75. The ship is huge, and the nacelles light up. It took me about a week to build. I also had a problem with one of the top layers of the saucer section staying in place.
