Star Wars: A New Hope Digital HD $9.99 at FandangoNOW. This title is UV. It will transfer to Vudu and should then transfer to other services via MA.

Its Star Wars and digital so will always be higher priced than people would like but it is on sale (currently $18 at Amazon and $20 at Vudu) and a decent price as these things go.

And yes it is not the "original" version. You will not find that on digital.

Thanks A UK

I bought Penguins of Madagascar recently on FandangoNow. I can confirm that it will transfer to other UV sites (e.g. VUDU), but unfortunately, it doesn't transfer to the other Movies Anywhere sites (Google Play, iTunes, Amazon). That was a bummer. Maybe that movie is not transferable??

UV title are being blocked to MA when not purchased directly at the linked MA Vudu account. This doesn't seem to be effecting everyone and there doesn't seem to be any concrete explanation if this is how it is designed to work.
MA is aware and Vudu is aware....

I will buy this to add to my umpteen other versions just so I don't feel guilty about owning the Despecialized Edition (which is the only good way to watch).

Penguins of Madagascar is an MA title and should have ported once in Vudu. Check MA first.

FYI, I spoke directly with a customer service rep who said that Fandango should not work with MA. It's not an authorized retailer— even though it syncs through UV.

UV movies port to MA. I have done it several times using D2D on a secondary account on Vudu

Sometimes you have to disconnect MA and reconnect to "trigger" MA to port

Meh.

I purchased Madagascar 2/3 from them from a deal posted here, and it did not transfer anywhere for me, including Vudu. They never even so much as responded to me, despite reaching out for contact.

Hopefully Vudu PMs.

Be a little careful with ANH and assumptions on porting. There's a whole politics/drama on who owns the rights to e.IV vs the rest of the movies (fox? Retains rights to ANH whereas Disney has the rest via Lucas? I can't remember )

Disney gets all distribution rights for eps 1-3 and 5-6 in 2020. Fox owns ANH / 4 forever

It pretty clear cut on the rights, the drama is just with people who are not aware of the split rights.

Just to test...
Redeemed a different movie on FandangoNow.
Movie ported to Vudu via UV library.
From Vudu ported to MA.

This Star Wars is UV and is also in MA so it will follow the same path.

Edit.. go ahead and change the title. It does port to MA.
Ported nearly instantly
