*****UPDATE: Spoke with Victra Rep who said deal is live today. Phones get rang up at $260 each, or, $10/month DPP per phone. I asked him 3 times 3 different ways and each time he said NO devices "credits" just DPP. There is a $20 "set up" fee per phone. Since I was going to do setup my self later, the rep did not waive fees but gave me $40 in accessories.
To my knowledge this is better than the known BF sale straight from verizon, and is one of the best deals ever on this phone. Going after work to purchase. will report back when phones in hand. I live in Long Island, hopefully active near you. Call before traveling to confirm and make things easier for yourself.*****
I'm a verizon customer but I've been waiting for a good deal on an unlocked V20 (US996). The cheapest price I found was a few months ago for $349 at B&H. I live in NY and the tax was a deal breaker. Recently I kept getting BJs email vaguely talking about Verizon V20 (VS995) black friday deal. Today the email shows BOGO (Picture included).
The link leads to Victra's (BJ's verizon retailer) website. Their website sucks.
I called the 2 nearest Victra's inside BJs. They verified that the deal will be buy one get one free. The reps also stated that the phone price is $480, or, $20/month. This already is cheaper that verizon's own website where the phone currently is $576, or, $24/month.
So, if you buy 2 it = $240 per phone, which is by far the best price I have seen. Even though I wanted an officially unlocked phone, I'll bite on this if true. XDA forums confirm this will work on AT&T and T-Mob. Sprint you are out of luck. XDA also confirms this phone can be rooted and bootloader unlocked (yay!). Specs can be found here for other network questions.
Now, until I can can see something in writing, this is kind of a YMMV. We have all been given wrong info by reps at one time or another. Also, i'd wan't to know other details
1. Black friday only or longer? NOW LIVE
2. New lines only or new AND existing lines- All lines "should be" eliigible
3. DPP or monthly "credits" (BARF)? DPP
4. Bogus activation fees? (i can usually call and get fees reduced or cancelled). Unknown
If you have any info share below. Price wise, this could be the lowest this phone has ever gone. Even with tax, as long as its not credits, and not just for new customers, I'll be all over this.
