Looks like Purple [purple.com] is doing a free Purple Pillow ($100 value) with the purchase of a mattress. I have this mattress and I can honestly say it's great.

I have to say, their commercial was entertaining!
Just not sure if the mattress would suit me.

Purple used to be cool - now they are just a big cooperation suing folks for questioning why there is an unidentified powder inside every mattress. This would have been a great opportunity for them, but instead they treat it as a threat and use their financial power to squash the little guy.

F'em - boycott the purple!

Do a bit more research on this if you have the time. A friend of mine is a copyright lawyer and brought it to my attention. There's a lot of very well crafted campaigning from companies competing against Purple, and the suit sounds justified. That said, use your own judgment on it. Just make sure to not make assumptions based on front pages on Reddit or other sites - a lot of it is sketchy once you really delve into the details!

Edit: I actually had the same or similar stance you had until my lawyer friend brought it to my attention! It's since made me rethink how I assess the media I'm exposed to!

He said, she said. Hard to know what is true these days :-(

I would be interested to hear feedback from people who actually own a Purple mattress.

That was Ghost Bed + Honest Mattress Reviews (not little guys at all) bringing up some BS against purple . Do more research before regurgitating BS. You should be boycotting Ghost Bed for shady practices.

Polyethylene (what was the powder) is used everywhere and even used in a lot of medical devices that are patient/blood contacting.

Quote :
The Court confirmed that on at least one occasion, Monahan contacted Marc Werner, CEO of GhostBed, to request permission to run an attack ad on Purple and target Purple users on GhostBed's behalf. The Court also confirmed that HMR's articles and posts about the anti-tack powder state and imply in a misleading fashion that Purple is trying to deceive or hide the facts related to the anti-tack powder from consumers.

Ive owned the mattress for about 9 months now and have grown to really like it. My gf was very against it at first but grew to love it after a couple months. People that have slept in the bed have really liked it as well.

I also backed two purple pillows when it went on Kickstarter. I really like it but the gf dislikes it, so doesnt use it. I honestly probably wouldnt buy the pillow at full price (im fine with the cheap $15 ones from kohls). But if its free, give it a try and see for yourself.

My kid wants a purple pillow for Christmas...and of course they're out of stock. Any chance anyone wants to unload one?
