Great price. I just sold my last used pair on eBay last week for the same price.

Any reason why you sold it?

Wrote about it in the other elac thread. In my room they simply had way too much bass which is fine if u r not trying to blend with a sub. Even with avr high pass crossover they were resonating well below 80hz. I even tried plugging the ports after emailing elac customer service. Having that resonance was playing heck with my subs response. I got some nht superzeros to replace them. I measured the elacs and then the superzeros with a calibrated umik1 mic and room EQ wizard. While the superzeros have no bass, the overall loudness was the same as the b6's which surprised me. I expected to have to crank the nht's due to their smaller driver and sealed design. They're WAY easier to blend with a sub in my room!!

I bought a pair. Been waiting for this deal. These ELAC B6s are in the same league as speakers 3x more expensive. Review link. [themasterswitch.com]

These are much hyped but I was really disappointed. Very muddy sound to me. Liked offerings from RSL and SVS much more.

these

kef 100s are a real love it or hate it sound. if you're sensitive to hard E sounds don't get the kef. the woofer on the kef is good but the bottom of the tweeter is not smooth.

this speaker isn't perfect either but i'd rather have whooty bass than a harsh 3khz zone

at this price, if you got lucky used you may even find the b&w 601s3 around that 200-250 mark and they would be substantially better than the kef or elac

also note again the martin logan lx16 is on sale for $239ea from various retailers. another good bookshelf but a very tame and smooth one. not the most dynamic speakers in the world but wildly easy to listen to and excellent with gaming and tv

imo you can get a nice sound new $450-500 and up. there are no perfect choices under that. at the $200pr price you have to pick which problems you want to live with

but very inefficient. 85db/1w/1m

contrast that to competitors like the martin logan lx16 which is 92db1w/1m

I am waiting for a speaker that can be physically adjusted, to tighten and loosen the speakers, that allows different tweeters and a few built in crossovers to be selected from. That's the speaker that I will ferry with me, across the sea of lost souls.

I've been using these as the main fronts on my 7.1 system since they were first available and am incredibly happy with them. I'm powering them with a basic Onkyo receiver, nothing fancy. They are phenomenal speakers for the price and would be a huge upgrade for anyone still using the cheap speakers that came with their system.

I just jumped on the B4's for my surround to complete my system with Elac speakers.

Crutchfield has this price as well and they offer 60 day returns if you don't love them.
